So, if installing the Putco wiring harness, whats this going to do for "more power draw" through the actual light switch inside the cab? I THINK I read that any headlight modifications will eventually mess up or fry the headlight switch. Mine already needs to be replaced (whenever I turn the headlights "ON", my gauges go out but half the lights stay on on the cluster)... 89 2-dr XJ sports here.

I am wanting to upgrade my headlights anyways, always liked having HIDs but will check out better options... IF YOU WERE ME, WHAT SETUP (housing, bulbs, wiring harness) WOULD YOU GET?

The difference is simple. In the stock setup, all of the power draw from the lights goes right through your headlight switch. But, the switch isn't good enough to handle the current, and it's a poor setup anyways. With the Putco, you simply plug it in and the new relays handle the current, triggered by the headlight switch and stock wiring.

I've been pounding my head over that too. I think I'm going to go with the Autopals since they're cheap, and still havent decided on H4s. Considering
these these
...but anyways
