SYE while in jeep
so like the title says, can you install a SYE with no issues in a jeep cherokee without removing the case? i was told by the guy at the jeep junkyard not to cause the chain will not line up right. please inform and if there is already a write up the please point me in that direction. thanks

ok i ran into one big issue that i cant seem to get past, my front driveshaft bolts on the t-case side are rounded off!!! the ones you cant get a socket on and have to use a wrench on. i was stupid and tried a 12 point wrench first and they were already pretty bad but now i cant get it to even catch the wrench. to small a space for vise grips, any advice. i am at a stand still. will post pics if needed.

how strong are these bolts and would it hurt my yoke on the output shaft of the t-case to bang on it like that?

Try a smaller socket like a standard or metric. Hammer something down on it so it cuts new teeth down on it. i have had that work before if you can get something to go down on it

the problem being that i can not even fit a small 1/4" rachet and 8mm short socket up there, so i cant pound a socket on there. i am tempted to just cut off the tops of the bolts with cutoff wheel and use vice grips to take the bolts out the drive shaft. then i could just get a new yoke for the front output shaft. just a thought but i want that to be my last resort. i already have spare bolts, i just want the damn things out!
