I don't blame you for not wanting to drop the case. I wouldn't either as it kind of defeats the whole purpose of lifting your truck. Check your pinion angles, shims will probably fix you up.

The driveshaft in that kit is actually a refurbished stock front driveshaft from an XJ. It's more than strong enough.

If this is true about the shims then you made my day.
My front ds looks sooo small compared to the rear though!?!

did your lift come with full leaf packs? i installed rusty's 3in full leafs and had very bad vibrations because the leafs did not settle. it sat at more like 6in in the rear for 2weeks. the vibration broke a snap ring in the t-case. so be careful. i just broke down and spent the 500.00 on a sye and shaft.

It is a hack-n-tap. And it costs more than a standard hack-n-tap kit, because it comes with a driveshaft. Out of the box, it is everything you need to install.

Where was this when I did mine! I bummed all over the net looking for that type of yoke.

Anyways, since I'm running a 242, my only option was to run a RE HnT. Then I had to find the crazy Spicer piece and adapt it to a front DS. Your concerns about the size of the front DS are the same ones I had, but this is how it was explained to me: "Which would you rather have as a DS a solid 1/2" wooden dowel or a the inner cardboard of a roll of paper towel?" Point taken!

I've been running mine this way for two years now, no complaints whatsoever. By the way, I needed it for 3" on my 99. It's just that 97+ isn't very tolerant!

Yes, ome leaf packs. and they are about 3.5 now but after a few 120 mile trips I figure hey will settle some.
