Hey everyone, so I am new to the Forum here. However, I just finished my lift in the rear, used rough country 4.5" lift packs with a combination of some leafs from my last bastard pack (exchanged and added to make a 7 leaf pack) and the final lift (after 1000 miles on road, 240 miles off road) has settled down to 6.5" lift(measured from axles to frame against a stock 01 limited as i dont have fender flares). My question comes from reading thread after thread about SYE's and Hack n Taps and transfer-case drops. I am running none of the three. I have never lowered my transfer-case, I have never messed with the rear driveshaft, I have only added a shim to reduce my pinion angle but i get zero vibrations. I have lifted the rear end of my jeep with a fork lift to where the tires have been off the ground and you cant budge my drive shaft, it seems like there is still plenty of yoke left to 'slip' on.
Do i really need a SYE or Hack n Tap if i dont have any vibrations?
Also, I can beat a stock 01 limited with an air intake, a 5 speed and 3.55 gearing on 235's from 0-60 by over 2 seconds(shift points at 4,000) with my 3.07 gearing and 33" super swampers, should i change my 3.07's to 4.11/4.56's even still tho?
info:
1996 jeep cherokee that i bought from my single owner CC coach back in high school with 123XXX miles, i have since brought it up to 169XXX miles. I have every record from anything ever done to the jeep from him and i myself keep a the records. i bought it stock with no modifications. i came with dana 30 up front, chrysler 8.25 27 spline in the rear with 3.07's all the way round powered by a stock 4.0, AX-15 5 speed and NP 231. manual everything with grey 'SE' interior. I have babied the jeep for the last 3-4 years that i have owned it, driven on the trail hard but maintained crazy good. i have rebuilt 3 historic cars in my life so i know how to do just about anything, but this is my first vehicle still today. I have lifted it up to 6.5" now with 33" super swampers (still powered by 3.07's in the axles) i have welders and tube benders so i built my own 2.5" exhaust from the down tube back using a high flow cat and glasspack(sounds mean and little drone) i have added an intake with tb spacer, double friction clutch and changed the oil in everything. I change the oil with HighMileage 10w-40(for the heat in nm/az) with slick 50 and engine restore with an extended oil filter every 2000miles. It runs like a champ and beats my friends 01 limited with 3.55's on 31's with intake. i have built my own custom roof rack, out of 2"x2" '3/8" rod-mesh' and its built to 6'1" x 4'2" x 8" i have 4 HELLA 100watt fog lights with pencil center beam rack mounted with 2 55watt H.I.D. fog lights rear mounted on the rack, i have Bright White 60watt head lights. i also have trimmed fenders, CB radio tuned with a 102" S.S. whip antenna, limo tinted windows all the way around and a custom sound system and sound bar out of an earlier XJ, and custom 'false floor' to store all of my tools in but still able to used the trunk as a normal trunk. I so all of the work myself.
its babied but wheeled hard
sorry for the long post
THanks

if it's not broke, don't fix it.
i'm at 8 inches and no tranny drop, no sye installed and no vibes either.
and i'm fine with my auto tranny, stock 3.55 gears on 36 inch tires.
