Ok, so i finished my IRO LA 4.5" lift. The only issue i'm having now is with the hack-n-tap SYE. The instructions said to measure to 33 3/4" from the rear u-joint, and cut the output shaft there. Got it all cut, drilled, and tapped. Here's a picture:

Here's the yoke:

And here's the yoke over the cut output shaft:

I tried hitting it with a rubber mallet, but it wouldn't go on anymore. And if you notice in the first picture, the yoke is hitting the output shaft, where it seems to get bigger.
Am I doing something wrong? I measured and cut, just like they said. However the bolt the include is REALLY short, and there's about 3/4 of an inch between the yoke and the shaft itself, so i can't even bolt it on. I tried calling IRO, and they basically told me that it should fit.
Any and all help is much appreciated, as always!

okay from waht i can see it looks like the old slip yoke caused a little lip, it is that little lip that is coming contact with the new yoke. correct? does it get skinnier after where it is hitting???
if so, take an angle grinder and very carefully grind it down. I would chock your tires, put the E-Brake on, start it, put the trans in 1st and slowly let off the brake. AL WHILE IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE!!! that way the output shaft is spinning and you can bring that lip down evenly.

I'll have to take a look at it when i get home. I don't think it gets any skinnier though. However, even if it did, it would only go down a few mm's, where it would hit what appears to be a seal. Or does that seal need to come off?

Well, i just spoke w/ IRO again (Best customer service i've ever had) and they said to go ahead and just cut the yoke. Will try that later tonight. Will hopefully have it driveable by tomorrow, and i'll post some pictures.

Definitely. I will post up some pictures before and after. SYE is the last piece to the puzzle. Well, that and the swaybar QD's, but i'll work on those later. Another question i have, is the Spicer U-joint that came on the driveshaft from IRO. One of the end caps came off, and all the little pins fell out. I was able to recover most of them, but some are still missing. Is it possible to use a cap w/ pins from the old rear driveshaft u-joint temporairly? Not sure if i can replace just a cap, or if i have to replace the entire u-joint.

as long as the needle bearings from your old u-joint are good go for it! just have to make sure none of them are bent, and none of them "fall" as you put the cap back on.
