sye problem

Default sye problem

i installed a sye and i cant shift into 4 wd and i was wondering if the mode fork bolt had to be trimm down. if so how much wuold have to be trimmed down?

I am assuming you are refering to the rod that protrudes out of the case half.

Which brand SYE did you install?

IIRC the AA SYE says to trim it to 1.125" (1 1/8") when shifted to 4WD.
This is w/o looking for the instruction sheet...somewhere in the mess I call my workshop.

I picked up a RR sye kit from a local drive line shop here in vegas (Adams Driveline) and just dropped in all the new parts and havent had a problem with it... no trimming or anything...

really thats i have rr sye and a cv drive shaft from adams drive. any suggestion on what the problem could be.

I would say check the linkage. disconnect it and try to manually shift it yourself from underneath with someone inside. I didnt run into a single problem so i honestly couldnt tell ya. because mine was drop in and play.

tryed that. it was jammed into place. so i thought the bolt was too long or something was aligned right.
