Default SYE and drive shaft question

So do I really have to wait till my SYE is in before measuring for a new driveline, then wait for the driveline to be made while my jeep sits there? Seems it's been done so many time that everybody would know exactly what length to get for the size life you have?

When I ordered my SYE kit from Advance Adapters it was a combo kit with a Tom Woods shaft. They tell you how to measure the stock drive shaft in the vehicle and then they compensate for there SYE kit and send you the correct length shaft with the SYE kit. A perfect fit shipped all at once. PS Mine is a 94 XJ with a 5" lift.

I have a 4" lift, and just used a stock front driveshaft. I'm nowhere near bottoming it out or separating it when totally flexed either way.
