If you're jerking the wheel real hard, expect some sway........but, also inspect your sway bar connectors, and bushings. From there, you could possibly be due for some new shocks or a shock upgrade. I'm thinking you're XJ is stock, if you're going to lift it, dont spend any money yet.

Just barely beat me, but. . .
1. First check your front and rear sway bars (make sure they are there and connected, but you might not even have a rear one)
2. check the bushings around the swaybars
3. check your trackbar and steering for slop
4. depending on milage you might need new shocks, you can take them off and simply check to see how the compress and expand by pushing on them, it should take some strength down and expand on their own.
5. Also it's a jeep, it'll naturally sway more then alot cars

Ill start with what u guys suggested. Any suggestions on what type of mid range priced shocks and bushings if your keeping things stock for now anyway. Also is there a thread or diagram somewhere that I could use to familarize myself with all the diffrent parts....sway bar, steering stabilizer etc....
Thanks for the help.

Its a TJ but its all the same, except on yours you will have a shock on your steering which is the stabilizer
