So this really dramatic article online about how not having anti-sway bars will automatically kill you got me worked up about this topic, so I decided that I needed to discuss it.

Removing your anti-sway bar does make the vehicle less stable. just look at the name of the part, it's an ANTI-SWAY bar, so without it, the body will sway more. But does this automatically mean you'll tip over the first time you corner? No, not at all. You need to remember that your 4x4 truck/SUV is not a sports car in the first place and it will be a little less stable than before and you'll be fine. You know those corners that are suggested to be taken at 25? Go 25 around them! You can probably go a little faster, but try it at 25 first and see what it does. I've run my Explorer without anti-sways for quite a while now and I never felt like it was dangerous. But, since I often don't find many things dangerous that really are, I asked my fiance about it, too. She said that not once did she ever feel like we were out of control, about to roll, or on the edge of death.

When you remove anti-sway bars, you have to drive smarter. that's it. Taking them off doesn't automatically mean crashing, rolling, and death. Anti-sway bar disconnects are a good idea and should be run, but it's not the end of the world if you don't. I can't stress how much DRIVING SMARTER is the solution.
