sway bar bushing size xj

Found several sizes.. 25mm, 26mm etc.
What's the correct size for a 89 xj 4x4

the only way to tell is to measure. XJs came with a random array of sway bars.

I guess you measure the thickness of the bar itself correct?

correct. Pick up a cheap caliper tool and measure the thickness where the bushing is.
