Okay, so my transfer case just went out and it is a 231 j with a 272 ratio and its on a manual transmission i was wondering what i would have to do to swap my other transfer case with this one which is a 231 j with a 272 ratio also although the only difference is this one is from an auto tranny would the spline be any different? Also the one from the auto tranny has a slip yoke on it could that also change the spline, thanks for checking my pist out any help would be appreiacted

 

Just swap the input gears but what year is your and your other case. If i am correct after 94 the gear cut changed from a rounded gear to a sharp gear. Most ax15 were 23 i think. Older awd renin Era are 21 spline H.O 23. I would suggest a couple upgrades since youll be that far into it, the 6 plantery and wide chain and sye if you already havent. All available in 231, 231d, 241d 241hd and 231hd.
