Thanks for all the posts! Many of you guys have been entertaining!! Its sad to get rid of the old rig...its been reliable, and relatively easy to work on...even for an amateur like me!!
I was thinking about driving it to get it to the junk yard. But maybe that's not a good idea. It looks like the tie rod end is the only thing that holds the wheel straight.
For those interested, I took a few more pictures of the frame rails.
I certainly hope you didn't buy it expecting it to be road worthy at some point. If it's gonna be a parts or trail only rig, that's different, but I wouldn't street that if you paid me.
It's already suffered major structural failure, the rest isn't far behind.
With rust, it's not what you see, it's what you can't see. Based on what we've seen, you don't wanna see the rest, haha

No, I didn't buy this jeep. I more or less hauled it for a friend which has a identical jeep same year and same color. I already have my own jeep and didn't need a second. Lol. But it's a small world because I read this thread when it was originally posted and then a couple days later I was over at my friends house. My friend started to tell me about her sister and brother in laws jeep and how the control arm fell off and I was like hmm I just read something online the other day just like this. Well it turned out that I somewhat knew jamurrin.

Ummm no I didn't. I said it found a new home. That doesn't mean I bought it. And it wasn't my home that it found either. It was my friends home. Like I said before I more or less hauled it with my truck for a friend.

your friend knows it's not road worthy right? Hopefully they didn't pay as lot for it.
Well, whatever is going on, I just hope the o p buys himself another Cherokee Jeep. One that has absolutely no rust and will last a long time. Also I hope that this Rigg will get parted out and keep other Cherokees alive. But most importantly if this Jeep is being parted out, I hope that it is local to me because I need some parts :-)
Lol. You guys are funny. Basically the jeep went from sister to sister. And yes I agree with everyone else, this jeep should be kept off the road. Some of these parts will be going to make my friends jeep alittle more complete again.
