no mechanic is a friend of mine for 20 years. He said they all look good he did hear the noise but said everything looked normal. He did say it could be the shocks. How hard to change on your own?

not difficult...you might break bolts...make sure you soak them in pb blaster before you attempt to replace...

Do yourself a favor. Instead of disconnecting the shock completely and taking the risk of breaking those upper rear shock bolts (they break maybe 80% of the time), just unbolt the lower shock bolt and compress the shocks by hand. See if they clunk or show any sign of wear. If not, hook em back up. It would really suck to snap those bolts and then realize your shocks are fine.

The bottom of the front shocks have two simple nuts and bolts to remove. The rear shocks has one nut.
