so lately i have noticed a clunking sound when i turn hard left and sometimes right. i have searched threads but i have a pic to post and ask a specific question.
i have a 4.5" lift the the stock pitman arm. when i grab it with my hand and rotate hard (no dirty thoughts). it produces an audible clunk at the joint where it attaches to the pitman arm like the noise i am hearing. not sure if that is the same clunk i am hearing while driving.
My question is is it normal on a new setup for it to make this noise? if not would a new extended drop pitman arm fix this.
in the pic i messed up and called it a drop pitman arm but it is 100% stock
thanks
oh as you can tell grease comes out of it pretty good.

I noticed you have an aftermarket trac bar. Ive heard that with the aftermarket trac bar you dont need a drop pitman arm. Have you checked the rod end that connects to the pitman arm?

yea i did and that is the end that is in question and making the clunk by hand. not sure if its suppose to or if the angle is off because of the lift and stock PA and a DPA will fix it?
It is a common link to go, especially when a lift is added. It puts the link at a more severe angle, and they wear out faster. I would check all of your TREs as well, they might be loose. It is all an easy fix, so NBD. HTH!!
BTW, you do not need a dropped PA, it would cause bumpsteer because it would be no longer traveling in the same angle as the track bar. When you do a dropped PA, you have to change the TB mount on the uniframe end.

is that a rustys suspension and if it is check your lower control arms. I have a rustys susp. and it makes a clunking sound when i go over rough roads, and i noticed it does it on the drivers side so what i did i tapped it with my palm and i heard the sound coming from the lower control arm and i havnt done anything to fix it.my rear lift springs are shot so im thinking of getting an other type of susp.

thanks for the info i will look into replacing these parts i would do it one by one but can't afford multiple alignments.
