When I close the sunroof on my 2k, the window makes a sound similar to a drill chuck reaching its limit a "rapping". Is there a close or limit switch that should activate when the window is closed to stop the window motor?

 

There may be some sort of a clutch in the motor drive for the sunroof. Is it an ASC sunroof?

ASC did the installs and made sunroofs for most of the auto makers, and do so even today. Does your switch light up green and say ASC on one of the buttons?

 

I'm sure it's a 3rd party sunroof but there is no name stamped on the open/close switch. Any other names besides ASC?

 

No idea about yours specifically but I know the one in my old beat up Merz did the same thing. I just ignored it and figured that when it made that sound, it was closed.

 

Do a search for a shop in your are that specializes in sunroofs. Let them take a look at it and see whats wrong. A sliding sunroof is kind of complex and can be tricky to make work properly. I got mine adjusted to fit flush with the roof and I will never open it again. I hate sunroofs, really over rated if you ask me.
