Default Suggestions for aftermarket rotors

I need new rotors, and think it would be a good idea to up grade seeing how I will be lifting and getting new tires. I'm currently looking at brembo and Power slot. What do you guys recommend?
Thanks

braking performance for the jeep will be minimally increased by upgrading to slotted and drilled rotors. You'd be better off converting your rear brakes to disk brakes and just using stock style rotors.

Looked at the teraflex kit pretty pricy IMO.

Yeah...I looked at those...you are better off getting a ZJ rear disc setup and modding it to fit your XJ. That is my plan for my disc upgrade and I plan to get some slotted and drilled with hawk pads for the front.

I can bolt any thing on, but I'm not too good at modding.

From what I have research the modding is very mild...mostly drilling out the holes on the back plate a bit bigger. Maybe some brake line work.

everyone I've talked to about this says to start with the rear discs from the ZJ. A little research and a junkyard should do it.

I have done plenty of racing and can tell you that I can out stop many cars with drum on the back of my car. My car is setup exactly the same as the track record holder at my local track. My rear drums like the other cars are finned aluminum though.

The after market ones will help you stop better by releasing gases built up while breaking as well as heat which kills breaks. I would upgrade the fronts since they do way more of the breaking which you'll need since your putting more unsprung weight under your XJ. Though don't get me wrong its going to be a great thing to do by putting the disk setup on the back as well as a huge upgrade in stopping.

Just my .02

I got another question. I have a 1999 XJ which has two different rotors the cast and complsite. My XJ was built in 8/1998 which meands I should have the composite rotors, but when I took my wheel off they look like the cast ones. I'm thinking that the previous owner out the wrong ones on. how should I proceed?

First, fix them typing errors so we can understand you better, then I would replace with correct specification rotors, or better yet if you have to replace them put the after market ones on. Think of the money spent on the factory ones a saving on the new after markets.

I just put in an order for a pair of slotted Stillen sport rotors. Got them for $89 marked down from $218.
Stillen is having a pretty good sale right now if any one is interested.
