ive got a 1990 with, what I’m sure is factory leafs. Not planning on going all out here. Want quality replacements to swap out. Any suggestion on brands? I just use it for hunting but I put a cooler in the back with a deer or hog and I’m bottoming out lol. Even a slight lift in the back wouldn’t bother me. Will be pulling a small trailer once in a while with 4 wheeler or corn for feeders, etc. again, nothing special. Thanks in advance y’all.
btw, I’m about 6 hrs away from home at the moment for work. Would like to order and have delivered before I get home this weekend or during the week next week while I’m home.
Your quite welcome.
Actually if your coils are in decent shape which they may well be any of the HD springs will work. I installed the Crowns then took a couple pics before doing the front. Don't know if they'll help out or not.
Here's a pic side pic with the oem still in the rear.
Yeah, the fronts will be next. It’s a project that I’ve had a few years now, but have neglected getting it the way I want. I guess the word ‘project’ covers that. Originally got it running good. Had all sorts of stuff to replace, but got it going for one deer season. Pushed it to the side since. With all the rain we’ve had lately, definitely gonna need the 4x4. I guess I will need to replace all of the hardware when doing leafs as well. Never done this before, so it’s a little adventure. General spring looks like they’ve got Quality parts, so I will probably order all of it through them.

Don't forget the heat for the leaf bolts. OEM used a healthy dose of red loctite on them so even if they're not rusty you will need to heat the bolts to 500F or so to free up the loctite.
Mine were rusty as hell and involved a lot of cutting. Hopefully you'll avoid all that in TX, but I always take the position of "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst".

thanks for the advice. I went home on my days off and was so busy with other stuff, and all the rain, I was not able to get to any of it. I’m hoping to order all the parts and have them there before I got home this next time. Debating on just replacing most, if not all, of those parts. We shall see though.
I installed the 755# springs from General Spring a few months ago on my 1990 XJ. Firm ride, but not uncomfortable. I did notice an improvement in cornering, I don't think there's any reason to retain the rear sway bar after installing these.
I will finally get to this project over the next week. I see Brian Ray mention dissolving the use of the sway bar. Opinions there? I will be doing nothing extravagant so if it’s not a big deal, I will no longer use it.
I did the "Up****ry Lift" on my 97 XJ and loved it. Rode great and gave me q little height and loading down with camping gear or towing a small trailer didnt cause lt to sag out. I plan on doing the same thing again with this 95 country I'm picking up.
I ordered the leafs and bushings through quadratec and just got new shackles in as well. Poor thing needs it so bad. The front not so much, but that will be a future job. For now, I need to get registration going again so I won’t get in trouble on the road after I get everything else up to spec
