Maybe expanding spray foam in a can? IF the nozzle fits it between, it should give it just enough push to quiet it down. I would still add some epoxy to help hold it in.

Liquid Nails

So what would yall recommend PC7 or Liquid Nails

Either should work very well. Liquid nails would be easier and quicker.

But if you pushed the cross member to the roof the member is more ridged than the roof so if it didn't bend them it will just pop the roof down with it when pressure is taken from it. wouldn't it?
