What is the thing that is holding the pulley called is it for the ac?

The clutch doesn't actually hold the pulley on, but I'm guessing that's what you were trying to find the name for...the thing in front of the pulley.

I'm guessing he is wondering why the center plate is not spinning too.
That center plate with the 3 big rivet heads is the face of the compressor clutch. If the compressor was actually running the clutch would be engaged and the plate would be spinning with the pulley.
I agree, where is the fan shroud??? It is not there just for protection, the shroud helps the fan pull more air thru the radiator. You'll be more likely to overheat without it.
