but rember jeeps are stump pullers.. not a high reving track truck...
That would be so sick to do. even tho there not track trucks you can always make it one.

why are you wanting all this hp!??or do you just got a lot of money you want to blow ?are you building a 1/4 mile xj?? tell us what you trying to do...

once you go that extreme ur looking at stronger axles, trans, cooling system pretty much everything plus tons of cash!! or you most likely will be replacing a lot leaving it stock!!

good luck tho sounds like what ever ur wanting to build will certainly turn heads

p.s i would just stroke you can get away with about $1500 to 2 g's i was looking into it!!

a friend and i were talking about this a couple of days ago actually i agree as said earlier for $800 bucks you could put in comp cams and that will boost hp by like 40 and torque by 50. add a few bolt on to that new exhaust CAI etc. and you could be making even more power gains.

search craigslist for "hearse" and grab something like this ( cause hearse's are cheap!!)... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/pts/1547601603.html

then gut the fender wells and add a cowl induction hood and roll out...

Talking True Power

If hp & torque are what you want & you have a strong budget. I'm surprised no one has mentioned a diesel get a Cummins 4BT diesel the sky is the limit. Stock they put this 4 cyl. in Fed Ex trucks if I remember correct tow was 18,000 ibs. Do some turbo work injectors programmer you'll have a Jeep that could move mountains.

I've seen a conversion where they put a duramax in a s10. they had to mave the fire wall back over a foot. It was badasss though.

I'd stoke it. you looking to turn your cherokee into a race car?

Talking Goal

No my goal is to lift it this winter for playin in dirt, sand, mud, & little rockin next season. By 2011 take Jeep off road put 4BT in & build a frame with roll cage it'll be a cherokee shell with a lot of blood sweat & tears. Big goal though but instead of buyin new Jeep I'd rather build my own. Cost about the same $$$ wise. There's no glory in payin someone else to do it.

ok to come back to the subject. im pretty sure stroking and turbo would require a custom head to let the air in and out fast enough with the high compression stroker. you dont want a ton of compression and a turbo with gas. if youre going to go for turbo youre not going to see as much improvment with performance as you are with a stroker. and im pretty sure a turbo will take more work anyway. go for a stroker on cng.

lol... u must not have priced the 4bt or tried to even find one... alot of people now are going with the isuzu motors because theres more of them and just as reliable and hecka cheaper... 4BT's sell for $3k to$4k... just for a used old motor... u wont find one on ebay or craigslist on a deal because people who list them there already know how much there worth... u might gt lucky and find a old box truck in someone back yard with one and they have no idea how much there worth... but i doubt it... even the isuzu diesels are like $1500 for a used old motor... would be cool but thats stupid money... 4btswap.com i think is where i found most of my information cause ive looked into it... just dont go in there and ask what itll take to swap one into your jeep... there tired of thoughs questions...

I'll be darned. That 3.2L science project under the hood of the Isuzu Rodeo would tick most of its life and still run 250K miles or more. The SUV drives like a raft but I can imagine those motors would move an XJ well.
