you may need a spring compressor but you can do it by unbolting the track bar and lower control arms, i would just use the spring compressor tho, as far as the hole for the bracket goes just re thread the hole and get a new bolt to match

Iron Rock Offroad offers upgraded spring clamps that look pretty sweet to me. in the meantime do as the others said, or use a big self tapper

Rusty's also has HD coil spring retainers. http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...egory_Code=cus They use the hole behind the stock location and a self tapping screw holds it in.

those little clamps really dont do anything. those are mainly used for when the axles were being installed on the assembly lines.

You should be able to run a longer bolt all the way through and use a nut on it.

I was thinking the same thing there is so much tension between the unibody and the axle that it would take an act of God to get it to jump off.

there is several pics of jeeps on here where the coil spring is about to slide off the bump stop if you didnt have those clips if you were to flex that much then the spring would more than likely pop out of the seat and could cause some issues im sure so def keep the clip

After replacing my whole front end this weekend if I ever articulate my jeep enough to pop the coil spring out then I will get out of the jeep and sock myself in the face cause that was a ton of work. I ended up getting a bigger bolt and puttiing it in the clip and it held tight. Thanks for the wisdom.
