Default Stripped castle nut

Hello fellow jeepers. I've got a problem that I'm hoping for some advice on. Currently working on upgrading my steering to a yet to be determined upgrade and am in the middle of tear down. All of the steering components are still factory original with approx. 139xxx miles on them. So you can image the condition of said parts. Anyways, here's the problem, the castle nut on the TRE at the pitman arm side of the drag link stripped at the first sign of pressure. What are my options? Should I just buy a new pitman and take the old one off with the TRE still attached or would grinding it off be easier?

I'd go with option #1.

buy a new pitman and take the old one off with the TRE still attached.

But grinding old rusty nuts can be fun. Wait... that doesn't quite sound right.

I would take the pitman arm off and grind it apart. But then again I have 3 stock pitman arms to replace it with.
