Default Stripped bracket bolt head MJ

I was attempting to remove the bench seat out my 88 MJ and stripped a bolt head. It's the passenger side front bolt, closest to the shifter. I tried a 13mm wrench, 1/2 wrench, vise grips, and Robo grips. It's the last bolt holding the seat in, of course... I don't have access to a welder and an angle grinder won't get to it. Any advice would be appreciated.

If its stripped and you can't cut it then it sounds like the seat is staying in

You can see if Auto zone loans a nut splitter to get it off. Or try to borrow a grinder from a friend.

I just bought some Dremel stuff. I think that will fit. Will update progress tomorrow.

bought a set of these years ago at the local Menards/Home Depot/Local Hardware store and have had very good luck with them. Used them this passed weekend on 2 of the cross member bolts for my MJ project.

Just hammer the appropriate socket on the stripped nut and then remove... the socket with bite into the nut more as you turn the nut out to loosen it.

^ That is awesome man. I'm thinking of getting that set before I use the dremel.

Since I couldn't find the Irwin set mentioned earlier, I got a Craftsman version. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-pc...1&blockType=G1

It worked great and will probably be using it a lot in the future.
