Default Strange tranny problem...

Well, i think my tranny may be slipping but i may be wrong here.

When i'm at a dead stop and let off the brake it doesn't "pull" as hard idleing (before i hit the gas pedal). Its almost like the transmission is half in gear or something. Before, this problem would go away after a couple of days, and then it would return. Now its been a week and hasnt fixed itself like usual.

Once in a while (only a handful of times) from a first to second shift it sounds like the tranny misses the gear and revs up to 3 grand or so and then catches.

I also noticed that when driving around in a parkinglot in first or second gear, when letting off the gas, it feels like the tranny is still engaged (similar to driving a manual car and not pushing the clutch in, and letting the car slow down from engine pressure.)

Any ideas???

i just rebuilt the motor and this is gonna suck to have to pull half of it apart to drop the tranny

The fluid level is topped off... maybe a bit overfilled even. But i dont know why it would have been fine all this time and then have problems later down the line if it was working fine with overfilled fluid.

Its a 01 jeep grand cherokee inline 6.

sounds like the torque converter may be locking up a little when you slowing down
