so i have a 2000 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 170k miles. it had an ongoing issue with it misfiring i replaced the coil pack and spark plugs also the crankshaft position sensor with a mopar brand no help at all.. i droped the jeep off at a local very well known mechanic and they told me the compression was 120 in all the cyl they said that is good . they also said all the coils were firing and the fuel injectors are all working . they found out the issue with the missing was a cut ground on the engine block and incorrectly gaped spark plugs they fixed that and theres no more miss but the idle is still a little rough . well 1 hour after paying and leaving the shop i go to start the jeep and it starts and instantly stalls it almost made a grinding noise i tryed a few times to start it and no matter what it would start and just stall . well i got out took the keys gave it ten minutes and it started right up any clue why it did not start?

I would check and see if the IAC is working or plugged up. Also check to see if there are any codes in the computer.

Does your instrument cluster (where the odometer is) say "No Bus" by any chance?
