Default Strange Sensation While Turning

Maybe it's normal for 4x4's but I'm used to driving front wheel drive cars. Like Hondas or my Ford Taurus. So it feel strange to me but is it normal when turning the steering wheel to feel the wheels "complete" the turn for you? It's weird to describe, I'm turning the steering wheel and then the steering wheel starts turning in that direction on its own and finishes the turn for me so I can let go of the wheel halfway through the turn and the steering wheel just keeps turning. Maybe the steering dampener is actually pushing it to make it turn more?

The reason I'm curious is I've had some instances of death wobble and wondering if it's caused by something not working properly and in that case related to the wobble.

I have yet to have an alignment done since purchase so that's possible. Hopefully correct since that doesn't involve new parts. Thank you.

Check all steering components for play b4 going.

^Yes^

Get under the front of the Jeep with the engine off and have someone turn the steering wheel from 10 o'clock to 2 back and forth slowly looking for things moving that should not be,

Should I lift the front end off the ground?
