Default Strange "Rattle" On Hard Acceleration in 2WD...?

I got my electrical issue sorted finally and got my xj back on the road...however im getting a strange rattle that seems to be getting worse during hard acceleration, but only in 2WD, and only when I get good traction...doesnt happen in 4 and doesnt happen in the snow or on slippery surfaces...

I was kinda thinking maybe my motor mounts are weak and its the fan hitting the rad or shroud, cuz thats basically what it sounds like, but there doesnt seem to be much evidence of that being the case...the shroud and rad fins seem unscathed still...

Anyone else ever experience this? Im new to Jeeps and 4x4s altogether, so I dont know what would be the correlation between noise in 2WD and silence in 4WD...

Thanks in advance for your help,

dirty

P.S. its a 1994 4.0 AW4 with Selectrac I believe...

Check to see if your engine exhaust pipe is broken off its hanger. This causes it to rattle on the cross member under certain conditions. It is fairly common and often caused by bad motor or tranny mount.
