strange rattle

Default strange rattle
i have a 2000 xj and has 130,000 miles. there is a reoccurring noise (clacking) that happens at 20 mph, i have checked all my u joints and thats not the problem. help please!

See if your exhaust is tapping the top of your crossmember

Your exhaust could also be hitting your leaf spring. When you say you checked u-joints, did you check the ones in the front axle shafts?

Yes I replaced my passenger side axle shaft u joint that did not solve it. The rattle is more towards the front. I've already shook the exhaust and not rattle.

The reason I changed that passenger side axle shaft u joint is because it had play in it, the driver side u joint is fine
