i also had a similar issue like yours i ended up replacing the cap and a good dose of burping the system worked well.

I had a similar issue, on hot days after I shut the jeep off after a drive it would spew coolant. For me it turned out to be the fan clutch

replacing the cap is easy & cheap, I had that issue..boil over on shutdown

if it is the fan, it would overheat at idle,

harder & more expensive to replace, check if it seized or spins too free
