stock running boards with lift
i have 99 cherokee classic with the stock big bulky running boards. I plan on doing a 4.5 RC lift and a 32" tire. I was looking at all these pictures and havent seen a cherokee with the big stock running boards? do i need to remove them for correct tire fit? or do people just take them off due to looks? Or do not many jeeps have them?
Thanks for any help.

Anyone know if someone with a home ratchet set could get those suckers off? I just took a look under there and I think it's just a big old nut threaded into the body...

If you don't have tools I bet you could put a CL add up and get a scraphead to come take em off for free...
Had I only been born a few years further back and had a jeep earlier. It seems a lot of posts about the OEM running boards that matched up with the fender swells were a good 3-5 years ago at least... I've gotten a hold of a passenger side but still looking for a driver side in good shape. Doesn't matter the color so long as the board comes with the trim ends. I've scoured parts listings across the U.S. with barely any luck. seems most took them off or lost them on trails, making them rather hard to find. anyone here have any idea of some locations to search? I've been checking car-parts.com that holds listings across the country in larger scrapyards but i doubt it's feasible to connect to every scrap yard in the country.
