will the long roof rack of the 4 door fit a 2 door...does it matter the year?....

 

As long as your jeep has rain gutters and/or an OEM roof rack it can be done.

 

i ment the factory one..

 

Sorry I misread what you were saying. I know I have seen a 2 door rack on a 4 door but never the other way around although I don't see any problems with it.

 

In my memory I have only seen the older style exchanged for the newer never noticed 2 & 4 door exchanges but don't see why not.

 

2 door and 4 door have the exact same wheel base and interior space, contrary to popular belief. They are the exact same except the doors and 2 doors have a lot longer doors so the roof line would be the same. I think i read this somewhere on NAXJA lol.

 

A question to go along with this thread: How are stock roof racks mounted? I bought a used one but it only had 4 screws with it. What do they fasten to? Thanks.
