Default stock fender flares on trimmed fenders, does it work?

looking at a 2001 cherokee with 7 inch lift and 33s has trimmed fenders front and rear, dont like the look of that also need fender flares to pass saftey. but dont really like the look of bushwackers, is there any way to remount the stock fender flares even thought the old holes are gone?

I have seen numerous people use self tapping screws threw the flare into the fender. worked great

I have a 93 cherokee and was thinking of this as well.. due to the fact id rather not spend a arm and a leg on bushwhackers. Anyone have self experience or pictures on doing this? I assume i would probably have to trim the bottom of the fender flare where it wrapped under the truck and attached to the frame
