All right guys, really simple question here - I'm getting ready to get a new cat since I suspect mine is plugged up, and I was wondering what the stock pipe size is. I believe that it's 2 1/4", correct? I've searched, but come up with some conflicting info...some say 2", some say 2 1/4"

 

Get yourself a micrometer its a pretty usefull tool.

 

dial caliper would work better

 

Even better, I'll just tell him its 2 1/4, 100% sure.

it was 2 inch OD on mine.....I know this because I put a new 2 1/4 ID muffler on mine and had to use an adapter on the inlet

2 inch OD is stock. At least on my '89

 

I'm planning on getting this cat.

I'll make sure I check the diameter with a caliper before I get it though.
