I bought a Dana 44 that cam out of an 87 Cherokee a few months ago and the guy told me it had a factory posi. When I opened it it looked completely open but then I realized it had clutch packs behind the spiders. I guess this how the jeep posi works?
I ran all the numbers on it and figured out it came with 3:54 gear ratio. Well the carrier was in pretty bad condition and the clutches were all but worn out so my questions are
Are all dana 44 posies the same? Can I use a power lok clutch pack in my trac loc carrier or do i have to get OEM parts.
And more importantly, where the hell can I find a trac loc carrier for 3:73 and down ratios. I have looked everywhere online and can only find 3:92 and up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
