Default Stock control arm movement

My 95 has been having a wobble in the front for a while now. At one point it was dw badly but i replaced the stabilizer and that was fixed but I knew that was just a temporary fix probably. My tires were also dry rotted causing it to wobble more, so i replaced them and now anywhere from 50 and above there is a shimmy in the steering and you can feel the shimmy in the floor sometimes. So to the point of my question, I was under the jeep yesterday and I can grab all the control arms and rotate them a good 1/2 inch each way. Is that normal or could that be contributing to the shimmy im feeling?

You shouldnt be able to turn them a half way sounds like your control arm bushing are shot

Check the axle u joints for play.
Check the trackbar axle bolt torque, play in the joint (frame end) and bushing condition.
If you do the above two you might as well do a dry park test and check your wheel bearings as well while your at it, easy to do all of this stuff, you just need a helper for the test.

Also any bushing that's cracked or has become that easy to move is shot.

You should find your culprit and get a good idea of front end condition if you check those out.

I would think if you can twist and rotate your control arms by hand the bushing are done in. Thats very little force compared to the forces applied to them when driving.
