Default Stock axle replacement

Hey all, I got a 1999 XJ 4x4, and recently found a large crack in my axle, and it needs a replacement ASAP. was just wondering what I would be looking at in terms of cost. I would do it myself, but I don't have access to my shop right now.

Some more information, planning on getting the front axle, front struts, and front shocks. Its a 99 Sport with the uplander package, the straight 6, and the factory AX15 (the only reason I'm even choosing to put any money into it).

Thanks!

Going to have to find one out of a 91-99 with a 4.0 and manual transmission to get the right gear ratio.

It only has shocks and springs. No struts. Buying a used axle can come with all kinds of surprises. Be ready to replace everything. Bearing units, universal joints, gasket, oil, ball joints, and seals.

And most importantly, you need the right gear ratio as 00t444e said.

Or get both axles with a better gear ratio.

X2 on this, 4.0 auto will be 3.55s vs your 3.07s
