Default still sluggish...

ok, my '97 cherokee srt6 4x4 automatic is sluggish from a stopped position or from a slow speed. changed breaks, not it. it will act right if i manual shift, plenty of power, but I have to really give it throttle to accelerate in drive. check engine light is on.

maybe you should buy a code scanner (30bux at Autozone) and go from there.

you can spend a tonne on one... but the $30 jobbies typically get you pointed in the right direction.

thanks, i'll try it out and see what comes up... i have a feeling though its not gonna help me with my sluggish problems, maybe a few elec gremlins i have. hopefully its something simple, nothing internal of the tranny.

Cherokee SRT6?? Never heard of it... Code Readers are different than diagnostic computers that you see at shops and dealerships...about $7k-$10k different. LOL Code readers are non specific don't narrow down what is causing the CEL.
