I totally get that. If it were me I would have left it stock, I unfortunately don't have the money to go back to all new OEM currently. Nothing is broken, almost all of it is new, just set up poorly.

Gotcha. Not a good place to be, but sometimes you've just got to make the best of it.

BTDT.

Looking at those pics the fans seem pretty small, foot print wise. A cheap alternative is get a factory shroud at a u pull it wrecking yard for $10 and see if you can't fit it over a fan, trim a lil here and there might work. Try 1, if it works do the other one. If it drops the idle temps too low, you wan't to go back to the 195 t-stat though.

It's a pair of 12" fans which I would think would suffice but I do agree that with them mounted directly to the radiator, their covered surface area is minimal. Interesting idea on the factory shroud. Maybe I'll make a JY trip this week

Cardboard, duct tape, and some creativity will let you test your theory for cheep cheep.

If that works, you know where you need to go, it's just a matter of figuring out the best way to rig something up.

Stopped by the local yard and picked up two OE e fans. Mounted the driverside in the factory location wired up to the current setup.

Initial impressions is the fan with the shroud moves ALOT more air. Curious how this affects things. I've got another one to mount on the other side when I have a chance. It's all ran off a manual switch that turns on an aftermarket probe style thermostat set to kick on at 190 degrees.
