Whitey you didnt provide the link... but I think you may have misunderstood. It looks like Dillon is asking for advise/help with building a winch bumper... not buying one.

I plan on buying from JCR as well since I dont have the tools to build one.

The thing I dont like about the winch bumpers for XJs is that they stick out so far. If I were to build a winch bumper I would try to tuck the winch as far under the grille as possible.

Dillon look at my photos and see if you like mine. It is a homebuilt Winch Bumper.

BlueXJ, do you have a set of plans for your bumper?

Build one out of cardboard and make your own plans. It's easier than you might think.

In the process, you can have some fun with it.

No I did as suggested with a cardboard template for the unibody mounts and a few notes on a sheet of paper but for the most part it just came to fruition from my head.

I've got a set of unibody mount plans already, I was just hoping that someone had a set of the universal measurements, like unibody frame spacing, distance from fender to fender before and after flare, winch opening in the bumper, etc. I guess I have to stop being lazy and start getting creative :P
