stereo Install Problem
Installing a new head unit, hooked it all up yesterday and it was working fine but the kit didn't fit, so pulled everything and went and got one that does. Now I have no power to the radio and my gauges aren't working (oild, gas, etc). Radio fuse was blown so replaced it but no help. Still no gauges or radio. What the what?

Pull the connector apart and look at your contacts.
The contacts on the adapter sockets are "cheap"
They can easily be bent out of the way when connecting the adapter.
Check all your fuses again, just to be sure. INCLUDING the 10A fuse on the back of the head unit.

unless he didnt use the adapters... but iirc, head unit manufacturers dont color code the same...
x2. I just put a pioneer head unit in over the weekend and the contacts on the harness adapter were less than desirable. If one of those got bent during installation/removal, that might be your problem. ALL fuses should be checked as well. Good Luck.
"He" did blow more than one fuse. There was a fuse blown in the cabin and also under the hood. don't ask me the particulars, started pulling fuses, replaced the blown ones and voila! Been rocking and rolling down the road for a few days and really need to get the new speakers in.
Thanks guys!
