So I replaced my ignition switch and lock cylinder a few weeks ago, the pot metal innards broke. Since then, I have not been able to get the steering wheel to lock when I take they key out in "park". I have searched high and low for the mechanism that locks the steering wheel, all to no avail. All my search results come back with ignition switch problems, and those damn anti-theft bars that you lock across the steering wheel.

So just exactly how does that process work? What should I be troubleshooting?

 

The lock works with a pin going into a slot in the steeringcolon ( dont know if it the right word )
If you havent Got it alligned probberly, Then the pin wont enter the slot, and thereby not locking the steeringwheel.
