Why is this getting so hot it’s smoking?

 

Not a great thing! You have a possible short in your wiring. If it made magic smoke you'll probably see melted wires. Dive in!

 

Oh boy, that's not good. Has to be electrical. Hot wire grounding out maybe. Do your wipers, turn signals, high beam switch and everything work like they should? Check fuse box too.

Everything works as it should. It will very randomly shut off while driving and also I just discovered that when I adjust my steering wheel it kills all power very briefly so I’m thinking there’s maybe a pinched wire in there somewhere. I’m gonna start tearing it apart.
