Default Steering wheel?

I just bought a new after market steering wheel, and I started taking my old one off. I have the main bolt and the screws out, but the wheel won't come off. Anyone take their steering wheel off?

yeap, I just did mine yesterday, you will need a steering wheel puller, mine was kind of tight.

you can get a cheapo from H.freight for a couple dollars.

Very similar but with a flat plat instead of jaws. It has holes for a pair of bolts the bolt into the steering wheel ring and another center bolt which pulls the other two off of the steering shaft.

If you have a harmonic balencer puller it will work .Just use the 2 center hols to press it off.Its not a bad thing to keep on hand 2 tools in one.

I've pulled many wheels without a puller by using the following method. Take the nut off and put your knees under the wheel and use them to push up, use your nonfavored hand to hold the wheel at the top and pull back, with your favored hand use a hammer and strike the shaft while you're pulling back. This has worked everytime with no ill effects. You can use a puller too, I was trying to save you a trip. I figured this method out years ago, when I was waaaay too broke to afford a puller!! HTH!!

If you use this method make sure you wear a football helmet for protection just in case comes out and you are not ready!

I just removed mine and I had to crank the puller center pretty hard for it to come out.
good luck
