Steering Gearbox - what years will fit a 91?

Steering Gearbox - what years will fit a 91?

Ive got a 91 Cherokee......need a steering gearbox. A guy I know has an extra gearbox from a 94. Will it fit??? what years will fit my 91, anyone know?

Model: Cherokee

Engine: 2.5L I4 (Mercedes Turbo Diesel planned)

I would hazard a guess at anything up to '95 or '96. Seems everything before then was pretty much the same, so makes sense any year would work. Although a good upgrade is apparently a Durango steering box and I'm planning to do that myself soon.

If it's the power steering box, not manual, I don't think they were ever changed over the life of the Cherokee. AFAIK they are all interchangeable.

All are interchangeable, 94 will work fine

You can also use a YJ, drill the extra hole and add a 4th bolt, Durango box is not hard to swap in either, but like the other post above, they all interchange

I see that the Durango and all Ck are interchangeable but what years could I go up to on both. I.e could I swap a 96 for say a 2006 ?
