Default Steering Gear Boxes

Not sure if this belongs here or in the modified section,....

I am in need of a new steering gear box. I dont have much experience in this area so i come here. I have looked at a couple upgrades like the PSC gear boxes as well as the OE gear boxes. I only plan on running 33s on this,...yes I know I know, we always go bigger. I kind of need to know, is there really a difference between the OE and the PSC that I would notice only running 33s and if so, how does the 14 to 1 and the 12 to 1 ratios correlate to my steering. Yes I am aware of ratios but that doesnt tell me what the stock ratio is. Thanks in advance.

With just a little extra work you could go with Durango gearbox.

I would try to find a lower mileage one at a JY and run it first, then if it fails you consider an upgraded $$$$ box then.

I run 33" with 4 1/2"'s of lift on pretty rough trails and mud no problems yet on a 234,000 mi box.

Just replaced mine with a Napa reman, It feels to turn easier, install was quick and easy. Old one had a bolt broken off in it, and after and hour in a half of it not backing out, I said screw it and got the new one

Youll be good with a stock one. 33s arent to much for them, they'll push up to 35s with minimal binding
