Default steering gear box brace

How important is that brace and what does it do. I snapped it in half and don't want to pay th 120 ffrom jeep for a new one. Is it just a spacer or does it have a purpose? Any help or advice would be nice. Can I just use it snapped the way it is or should I not run it and wait. Sorry for a lot at once thanks in advanced

I can't get any but I will try tomorrow. The bracket is a triangle with 3 hole. For the 3 bolts that hold the gear box to the frame. I think it may just be a spacer. It snapped very easly and doesn't connect to the box or frame. I might just put it on and run it and if there aren't any noise wait it out. Any reason not to?

umm.....that's confusing.

Even if it isn't connecting it to the frame and it IS a spacer, you don't want a cracked spacer on your steering. if it falls apart, your steering will probably get loose start wearing out parts.

And the bolts who holds your steering box will bend or get broken in short time,a friend of mine have tried too drive his car with a broken spacer for a couple weeks,it don`t work,it`s not safe at all.

Oh that's bad! Don't drive it more than from the curb to your driveway. That's what hold your steering box steady and without it your steering will suffer and may not respond. Definitely buy the JCR one to avoid this happening again.

yes you need to get one. dont drive it. i kno exactly what your talking about. go to the junk yard and get one. they are cheep from a yard. and DO NOT try to make your own out of stuff you have laying around. i tried and what i built moved on me and my steering went all sorts of silly.

Get the spacer from JCR Offroad. It might be more expensive than something from the pick and pull, but its better to have something that you know you will have no more issues with. Some things you can go cheap with but never go cheap on safty.
