Default Steering components ??

I tried doing a search, but didn't see exactly what I was looking for so here I am asking for input from the XJ experts.

My Jeep has a bad case of "death wobble" at about 65 MPH and I need to replace all of my tie rod ends on my 91 XJ. I was wondering what you guys recommend as a good brand to go with. I have always used Moog in the past but they seem to be a bit pricey at the places I have checked so Im looking for opinions.

This Jeep has a 3" lift and will soon have 31" tires but is mainly used as a daily driver and some dirt roads, mountian roads and in the snow from time to time. I can't afford the best on the market but I would like to find something that is at least as good as stock or better.

Any and all help is welcome as far as brands, vendors, prior experience, etc.

Thanks for looking!
Dennis

I have to replace my entire steering setup, but don't want to start another thread to ask this. I have been on rustys, and the one link suggested here is $100, all the zj parts for the one side is about $77, and the rest would cost me about $85 all for moog parts. I see one of rustys setups is $275. Any suggestions on wether the rustys complete setup is better that moog stuff, and the zj stuff?

Okay, this sounds like a good upgrade! Just want to be sure I am reading this correctly.

1) So the ZJ tie rod tube is beefier but is the same length as the XJ tie rod?

2) Does the ZJ and XJ use the same size taper on the tie rod ends so I will not have to ream the holes it goes into.

Thanks again guys!

yes the zj tierod is a direct fit to the xj just adjust the length to match the old xj one and it goes right in the tie rod ends are the same taper everything works just like stock its just a little stronger no mods required

Awsome, thank you for the clarification!

I have one more question about this.

Is there a simple upgrade for the tie rod that comes off of the pitman arm or is the stock XJ piece not a problem.
