Steering column tilt wobble
I own a 90 cherokee with tilt steering which has developed the dreaded wobble, I was wondering if the entire column has to be removed in order to tighten and correct the problem or is it accessible without having to remove it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Question for you, sorry if i'm thread jacking, what exactly is "tilt steering" causing the wobble, it's when you can tilt your steering wheel up or down right? now question for you when you turn your wheel a little either right or left does it fix it? or does it keep going? i'm asking because this happens to me and when i turn the wheel the wobble stops. how can i tell if it's the steering collum?
the work can be done in vehicle, you need to go pretty deep into the steering column. google "GM tilt steering fix" or something, plenty of info out there. I think I used a writeup on a Buick forum. It really helped to order
, I floundered around trying to make my own, but for under $10, I wish I ordered this in the first place.
