Default Steering Column replacement?

Can anyone give me the basics of replacing a steering column on an 88xj? I'm no pro mechanic or anything but I'm pretty good with a wrench. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

done this a few times.

remove the knee panel from along the lower dash.
unbolt the support bar that goes from the kick panel to the steering column.
remove the 4 bolts that hold the column to the floor.
remove the 2 large nuts that hold the column to the dash.
unclip the harnesses from the column.

then under the hood, you can either remove the bolt at the steering box or half way up the shaft is another you can remove to split the shaft if you only need the top section out.

but while you're there, inspect the slip shaft and u-joints on the whole shaft.

the column should just slide right out, you may need to slide the drivers seat back and/or recline.
