So last time I went wheeling I broke my steering box and my steering column. I have a Durango steering box en route, but I still need to figure out a column. right now, the whole upper half (from the tilt joint up) moves 1-1.5' in every direction.

I have an 88' and I have 2 friends that have 97' columns i can use, but I would have to assume that I can't use them because of wiring differences. So, What year steering columns are interchangeable with my 88'?

 

From my understanding pre 97 and post 97 columns are interchangeable...I don't however know about renix era. My buddy had a renix at one point and the cruise control wiring was hanging out and from what I remember it looked the same as my 94. I'm not sure if 97 plus has the same plug or not but Id assume if it doesn't you could splice the wires together if you do a little research to find out what is what.

 

84-94 will enterchange, 95-96 are the same for only those two years, 97-01 will only work for these years. A 97 column will not simply bolt into your 88, everything is different between the two.
